Cities Alliance hosts the panel discussion 'Innovation and Informality: Locally-led Climate Action in Cities', at COP29 - 8:15-9:00 (Baku time UTC+4)
This session convenes a diverse group of urban and climate practitioners to discuss the role of locally-led climate action and to highlight the unique perspectives of local leaders championing initiatives within informal settlements.
Participants will explore innovative solutions developed by communities on the frontlines of climate challenges, showcasing why informality must be prioritized in climate agendas.
Key insights will underscore the link between climate resilience and social equity, emphasizing that informal communities are not only affected by climate change but are crucial players in addressing it.
