World Development Report 2010: Development and Climate Change

The problems brought on by climate change can be handled effectively if high-income countries act quickly to reduce their carbon footprints and boost development of alternative energy sources, says the latest issue of the World Development Report. It also highlights the importance of financial and technical assistance given to developing countries trying to cope with climate change.

According to the WDR 2010, the creation of Climate Investment Funds (CIFs) is one method that developing countries can use for leveraging support from advanced nations.
