CIVIS: Making Economic Growth in Cities More Equitable
This edition of the Cities Alliance’s CIVIS Notes series was prepared for the Cities Alliance by Andrés Rodríguez-Pose and Callum Wilkie of The London School of Economics and Political Science.
This edition of the Cities Alliance’s CIVIS Notes series was prepared for the Cities Alliance by Andrés Rodríguez-Pose and Callum Wilkie of The London School of Economics and Political Science. They argue that while cities are widely considered to be important engines of economic growth, more must be done to ensure that growth is inclusive and sustainable. They also outline five essential elements that should be part of any approach to creating equitable economic growth. The CIVIS is based on a discussion paper prepared as part of the Cities Alliance Joint Work Programme on Equitable Economic Growth.
