IEG Global Programme Review of the Cities Alliance, 2007
This 2007 IEG Global Programme Review of the Cities Alliance examined the effectiveness of the Cities Alliance.
Conclusions of the review included that the slum upgrading technical assistance led to bigger programs of investment, and City Development Strategy work had broadened the scope for good local mayors to interact with other cities. In summary “Through working in all regions of the world, the Alliance has had a truly global impact and also helped keep the Bank focused upon urban development issues”.
The review recommended that the Cities Alliance should continue to sustain excellence in the quality of its work as a global leader by remaining focused upon its core components of CDS and Slum Upgrading.
