Monrovia: Waste Community-based Enterprises Raising Environmental Awareness
This video highlights how Cities Alliance is supporting Community-based Enterprises (CBEs) to generate employment and improve solid waste management in Monrovia, Liberia. CBEs are the frontline of waste collection and play an important role in not only keeping the city clean, but in sensitizing households on the importance of managing waste properly. The project is providing jobs, especially for women and youth, and is helping to develop a value chain in waste management.
The Delivering Climate Resilient Solid Waste Management Services in Greater Monrovia through Community-based Enterprises project is funded by the European Union and implemented by Cities Alliance as part of the Liberia Country Programme.
