Cities and Migration, Arua, Uganda
With more than 1.4 million refugees, Uganda is the third-largest refugee hosting country in the world. The city of Arua in northern Uganda has seen an influx of migrants leaving the surrounding refugee settlements to access opportunities and services in the city. With municipal budgets only accounting for the local population, the city struggles to provide services for the host communities and the refugees.
