The Moroccan capital is also due to host the UCLG Executive Bureau and World Congress in 2013. Executive Bureau meetings are open to UCLG members by invitation.
Additional events will be held on the fringes of the meeting, including a regional workshop on urban infrastructure financing and the African launch of the Global Report on Decentralization and Local Democracy (GOLD II).
UCLG's May 2011 newsletter also includes news about:
- A UCLG survey which invites members to share now they would like to see the organisation evolve; and
- An upcoming learning event hosted by the city of Durban in June 2011 that is expected to establish new mentorships between Latin American and African cities.
