OECD Urban Days

The OECD Urban Days will gather global leaders, experts and changemakers to discuss the latest insights on how to design and finance inclusive, circular and sustainable cities. Throughout the week, the event will provide an opportunity to explore bold solutions on a range of urban topics, from using water resources and buildings more efficiently to reimagining climate-resilient communities and the post-2030 agenda.
Global economic growth is projected to exceed 3 per cent in 2025, yet real life prospects are unfolding differently across and within countries, including in cities. As economic powerhouses, cities continue to drive national competitiveness, but the urban fabric is beginning to fray under risks of extreme weather events, side effects of technological advancements such as generative AI, and basic necessities becoming unaffordable for many.
As part of the Urban Days, the 7th Meeting of the OECD Champion Mayors for Inclusive Growth, will take place on Monday 14 April 2025. As partner of the event, Cities Alliance will participate represented by Director Greg Munro.
The meeting will centre on two key discussions:
- Cities for All in Times of Uncertainty: Mayors will share insights on how to craft more equitable and resilient cities while navigating unknown waters against the backdrop of rising divides.
- The Future of Mobility for Inclusive Cities: A session to rethink how post-pandemic urban transport systems can support a greener, fairer and brighter future for all residents.
Other key events on the opening day include:
- Creating Cities for All Ages: Exploring avenues for collective action to meet the needs of an ageing population in cities while expanding opportunities for residents of all ages.
Confronting the Housing Crisis in Cities, which will also be open to a broader range of stakeholders as part of a larger landmark event, the first-ever OECD Urban Days.
