Global State of National Urban Development Policies
German-speaking webinar series in partnership with OECD Berlin and IHS.
Over the last decade, National Urban Policies (NUP) have been formulated and implemented in many countries. The recently launched "Global State of National Urban Policies 2021 - Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Advancing Climate Action” report, provides a comprehensive overview. It monitors and evaluates the progress of NUP across 162 countries and highlights how countries are using NUP to enhance sustainable urban development and advance global agendas.
The publication documents the greater integration of social and environmental objectives, evidence-based monitoring of NUP effectiveness and outcomes, and significant mainstreaming of the Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Climate Agreement and other global agendas into NUP design and implementation.
This online discussion is part of the City Talks, a series on the challenges and opportunities of global urbanisation and a partnership between Cities Alliance, the OECD Berlin Centre, and the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) of the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
