Street Vendors and Public Space: essential insights on key trends and solutions
An interactive e-book
This e-book published by Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing and Organizing (WIEGO), a Cities Alliance member, provides an overview on the use of public spaces by street vendors and discusses how these workers are being impacted by global political shifts.
The collection of images and articles also offers insights on the daily challenges faced by street vendors and possible solutions to promote inclusive cities for all. In addition to presenting successful stories from workers in Mexico, India and South Africa, the publication highlights how street vendors in Liberia pioneered a new approach with city officials with support from WIEGO and Cities Alliance.
