Sida Policy: Fighting Poverty in an Urban World

This October 2006 policy describes the purpose, focus areas and approaches for Sida’s support to urban development. The policy is intended for Sida staff, to facilitate the integration of urban issues into Sida’s development cooperation, as well as for dialogue with donors, partner countries and other potential partners in civil society or the private sector. It demonstrates why appropriate urban development is key to economic growth and poverty alleviation at both local and national levels.
