Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS)
The Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) is based at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands. It offers postgraduate education and training, advisory services and applied research in the field of urban management, housing and urban planning aimed at reducing poverty and improving the quality of life in cities. IHS has worked with Cities Alliance for a number of years. It has trained hundreds of urban professionals in Ethiopia and Ghana, and was instrumental in establishing the Urban Management Course at the Ethiopian Civil Service University – the first course of its kind in Africa. IHS joined the Cities Alliance in 2015.

International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED)
IIED is a policy and action research organisation that promotes sustainable development to improve livelihoods and protect the environments on which these livelihoods are built. It specialises in linking local priorities to global challenges. IIED is based in London and works in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and the Pacific, with some of the world’s most vulnerable people. It works with them to strengthen their voice in the decision-making arenas that affect them — from village councils to international conventions. IIED joined the Cities Alliance in 2017.

The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN)
SDSN mobilizes global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the Sustainable Developmetn Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. They aims to accelerate joint learning and promote integrated approaches that address the interconnected economic, social and environmental challenges confronting the world. SDSN works closely with United Nations agencies, multilateral financing institutions, the private sector and civil society. SDSN joined the Cities Alliance in 2016.
