The Government of Brazil is hosting the meeting, which takes place in São Paulo from 29 February to 1 March 2016. It brings together a range of stakeholders from the region to discuss inputs to the new urban agenda, including national governments, international organisations, and civil society.

 

[26 February 2016] -- The Government of Brazil is hosting an international  meeting for Habitat III in São Paulo, Brazil from 29 February to 1 March 2016.

The meeting brings together a range of stakeholders from the region to discuss inputs to the new urban agenda, including national governments, international organisations, and civil society. Minister of Cities Gilberto Kassab and São Paulo Mayor Fernando Haddad will open the event.

The São Paulo conference is the latest in a series of meetings in the Latin America and Caribbean region in advance of Habitat III, which will take place in Quito, Ecuador this October. It is sponsored by Cities Alliance, GIZ and Habitat for Humanity International within the framework of the Cities Alliance partnership's support for Latin America as the region mobilises for Habitat III.

Cities Alliance will be represented in São Paulo by Anaclaudia Rossbach, Regional Adviser for Latin America and the Caribbean.
