20 December 2010: Cities Alliance Proposals Update, Donor Coordination

Dear Consultative Group,
The Secretariat is pleased to provide an update on Cities Alliance proposals that have been processed since our last Update of 17 November 2010 at the CG Meeting.
I am pleased to share with you one proposal recommended for approval, "Central African Republic Towards Sustainable Urban Management: Improving Bangui City Performance Through Capacity Building and Planning Tools Development." which shall be considered approved on 12 January 2011, on a no-objection basis.
I would also like to take this opportunity to highlight and share with you, for the purposes of donor co-ordination, two proposals, "Colombia National Low-income Megaprojects: Developing a Policy and Program Framework" and "Support for upgrading the Chamanculo C Neighbourhood in accordance with the Global Strategy for Urbanizing and Reordering Informal Settlements in the Maputo Municipality". We would welcome any early feedback or suggestions you or your country-based colleagues might wish to bring to our attention and would ask that comments be sent by 12 January 2011.
