Cities Alliance supports the Know Your City initiative.
[3 February 2015] -- SDI's Know Your City initiative recently teamed up with Yes! Thats Us Films to produce The Boda Boda Thieves, a feature film that follows teenage Abel on his quest through the grid-locked streets of Kampala after he is entrusted with the family's livelihood - his father's motorbike, or boda boda.
It is through this lens that we get an insider's view of urban Africa, its underworld, and the growing generation gap between urban migrants and their first generation urban children.
The Boda Boda Thieves will be showing 8-14 February at the Berlin Film Festival, Berlinale:
- Sunday 8 February, 19:30 at CinemaxX 4
- Monday 9 February, 22:30 at Cubix 9
- Wednesday 11 February, 14:00 at Akademie der Kunste (Hanseatenweg)
- Saturday 14 February, 11:00 at CineStar 8
