Cities Alliance members are invited to contribute to an online portal that aims to provide a focused, structured search on information related to cities and climate change.
Cities Alliance members are invited to contribute to the Knowledge Centre on Cities and Climate Change, an online portal that aims to provide a focused, structured search on information related to cities and climate change.
The portal is one of a series of tools that UNEP, UN-HABITAT and the World Bank are producing as part of a Joint Work Programme to support cities as they respond to climate change.
The Cities Alliance Secretariat is facilitating the partnership in addition to providing technical, administrative, and financial support.
Expected to be launched in September 2011, the portal will make it easier for city practitioners and local authorities to find publications, good practice and local experience on cities and climate change by providing a focused search on a single thematic area. The Knowledge Centre also aims to be a relevant source of information for researchers, development partners and staff in international organisations.
Prior to the launch, Cities Alliance members are invited to provide a profile of their activities in the area of cities and climate change that will be featured on the portal.
To submit a profile:
If you would like your agency to be profiled on the Knowledge Centre web portal, please provide the following information:
- A profile of your agency
- A logo of your agency in jpg, png or eps file format
- A link to your agency. If no link is provided we will link to the landing page of your agency (e.g. http://www.unep.org).
- An email address to which the Knowledge Centre should direct inquiries on your agency or related activities. Please note that a feature will be included in the database which allows users to contact each agency through a contact form. The requests will then be forwarded to the email address you indicated. No email address will be accessible directly on the website.
To share a publication:
Cities Alliance members are also invited to share publications to be included in the online portal. To recommend publications, please send a list with links to the documents. If the documents are not accessible online, please forward the pdf version. Please note that by forwarding the documents you are granting us permission to upload them onto our website and make them accessible online for free.
