The Cities Alliance is pleased to welcome Clare Short, former Secretary for International Development (DFID/UK), as the Chairperson of the new Cities Alliance Policy Advisory Forum (PAF) for a period of three years.
The Cities Alliance is pleased to welcome Clare Short, former Secretary for International Development (DFID/UK), as the Chairperson of the new Cities Alliance Policy Advisory Forum (PAF). Ms. Short, who was unanimously elected to the post at the Cities Alliance Annual Meetings in November 2010, will serve a three-year term.
Created by the new Charter, the PAF aims to serve as a platform for public discussion, debate and knowledge sharing. It also promotes dialogue between Cities Alliance Consultative Group members and invited partners on key policy and strategic issues of city and urban development, and advises the Cities Alliance on appropriate policies and strategies.
Ms. Short has been involved with the Cities Alliance for several years as a high-level, strategic advisor. She is a passionate advocate for the urgency of urban development and its impact on the urban poor.
