City Talks-Session 1: Sustainable City Development and Urbanisation
A new series in collaboration with OECD Berlin and IHS.
Webinar on 12 November, - 11:00 - 12:30 CET.
This event will be held in German language only.
Sustainable urban development is one of the key challenges of the 21st century. For Germany, the topic of urbanisation is crucial, as it goes beyond European borders and it is directly linked to other complex challenges such as migration and climate change.
Against this background, the OECD Berlin Centre, the IHS of the Erasmus University Rotterdam and Cities Alliance, are launching a new series of City Talks to discuss with German-speaking experts, academics and practitioners the challenges and opportunities of global urbanisation.
The first City Talk is focused on urbanisation processes in Africa and Europe: What are the similarities, differences and interactions?
Keynote speech: Rüdiger Ahrend, OECD
Commentary: Christoph Matschie, MdB
Followed by a discussion with:
Alexander Jachnow, IHS, Erasmus University Rotterdam
Rene Peter Hohmann, Cities Alliance
Chair: Nicola Brandt, OECD Berlin Centre
