Africities Tripartite Dialogue: Ministers, Mayors and Development Partners
The tripartite dialogue meeting between Ministers, Mayors and Leaders of local and subnational governments, and Development Partners is the highlighting point of the political segment of the Africities Summit.
This meeting allows each party to the dialogue to raise five critical issues or proposals to be addressed to the other parties in order to ensure that local and subnational governments, particularly intermediary cities, are able to contribute more effectively to the implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda and of the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
During this session, the participants will also discuss and agree on the Summit’s statement and roadmap of priority actions and outcomes for the next three years.
The tripartite dialogue meeting will be organised in the form of a panel of 15 people (5 per category) designated to be the mouthpiece in the dialogue for each category. This panel will interact in front of all delegates and their deliberations will be streamed live.
Panel:
- The constituency of Ministers
- The constituency of Local and Subnational Governments
- The constituency of Development Partners
Chair: Greg Munro, Director, Cities Alliance
Rapporteur: Deborah Asikeit, Manager, Cities Alliance Uganda Country Programme
