This event will seek to identify impacts of the Covid-19 in precarious settlements and the responses that have been formulated and implemented by public and social stakeholders in Latin America and in Mexico specifically. The discussions will lead to understand and underpin the role of housing at the center of the impacts and responses to Covid-19, within the framework of precarious settlements

The LAV is organized by the Ministry of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development of Mexico (SEDATU), in coordination with Cities Alliance, the Urban Housing Practitioners Hub (UHPH), Habitat for Humanity, the Network of Housing and Habitat Investigators of the Americas (RIVHA), the Habitat International Coalition (HIC) and UN-Habitat.

The major key question for the debate is:

What immediate responses to address the crisis at different levels of government can be articulated and expanded that could lead towards deep, long-term transformations in the Precarious Settlements in Mexico?
