Cities Alliance Annual Meeting Logistics

Dear Consultative Group,

Warm greetings from Washington.

You should be prepared to receive a flurry of correspondence in the next two weeks, as we send you all the relevant information in advance of the forthcoming PPF and CG meetings scheduled for Mumbai, 17-21 January 2010. The first important piece of information is that January is just about the best month - weather wise - to visit this great city.

The Secretariat will be sending out all of the key, background documents to the CG by COB on Friday 18th December, exactly one month prior to the meeting itself. Some additional documentation will follow in early January.

The purpose of this email is threefold:

Firstly, to ensure that these dates are in your calendar. This is the Cities Alliance's 10th Anniversary meeting and, we believe, will be one of the most significant meetings in the short history of the organisation, with a number of significant issues that will need to be considered, and resolved;
Secondly, to provide you with a brief overview of what we believe will be a very interesting week; and
Thirdly, to provide you with the opportunity to make your hotel reservation, as soon as possible - early confirmation is strongly advised.

a.) Informal Reception - beginning at 19h00
2.) 18 - 20 January - Public Policy Forum - Three days
a.) 18 January - All day site visit in Mumbai, including Dharavi
b.) 19 January - "Focus on India's Urban Policies"
c. ) 20 January - Members Policy Forum and Debate
3.) Consultative Group Meeting -21 and 22 January ( meetings should end mid-day 22 January with Lunch to follow)
a.)  Celebratory reception for the 10th Anniversary of the CA - 21 January, beginning at 19h00
