The College of Social Sciences and Humanities of Jigjiga University, through support from the Cities Alliance and the Swiss Development Cooperation, will host the fourth Jigjiga Migration Series and the first International Conference on 'Migration, Cities, and Development' from the 7th to the 9th of April, 2020, in Jigjiga, Somali Regional State of Ethiopia.

The conference is expected to gather various national and international stakeholders in an effort to create partnerships and opportunities for collaborative research, training, and development on migration in cities. It will also foster dialogue among academia, government, and non-government actors, municipalities, partner cities and development. The conference will serve as a place to draw practical lessons from Cities Alliance and its partner cities to better enable cities to manage challenges and leverage opportunities arising from migration to cities.
