Summary
The project is to assist Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) in addressing urban poverty, and improving livability, competitiveness, bankability, and good governance and management by jointly working with various national and local-level stakeholders and other bilateral and multilateral development partners to assist in a City Development Strategy (CDS) for Kathmandu, and study of informal settlements in Kathmandu Metropolitan area, and a South Asia regional workshop on CDS.
Objectives
Develop a CDS for Kathmandu Metropolitan City and share experiences, lessons learned and strategies with other municipalities in South Asia.
Activities
a) Develop a City Development Strategy for Kathmandu;  b) Study informal settlements in Kathamandu Metropolitan area;  c) Conduct South Asia Regional workshop on CDS
Expected Impacts and Results
Alleviate urban poverty and improve livability, competitiveness, bankability, and good governance and management in Kathmandu and the surrounding area.
