Summary
The Activity “Sabores sin Fronteras” aims to encourage and strengthen the relationships between migrant women from different communities living in Buenos Aires City slums, in order to allow the cultural exchange, develop tolerance and willingness to sustain dialogue. To achieve this aim, several workshops will be organised by The Dirección General de Inclusión de la Subsecretaría de Hábitat e Inclusión, Ministerio de Hábitat y Desarrollo Humano, to offer tools and knowledge about nutrition, health and domestic economy. Also, each migrant community will share and teach the others how to prepare traditional recipes from their own cultures.
Objectives

Activities
Component 1: Presentation, and link with the community, by the workshop leaders of THE 1-11-14 VILLA, local project coordinators. 1. Time of presentation equipment: Day of presentation and workshop leaders planning with the Neighborhoods (villas) for the organization and manner of work. 2. Planning and training in the modality of work: Day of presentation and planning among workshop leaders of the villa and the organization to define the type of work. It will be used dynamics, in order to generate trust and stimulate exchange of experiences. Component 2: Training and Design 1. Gastronomic workshops. (weekly) 2. Design and production of aprons and kitchen cloths. 3. Design and production of audiovisual short. 4. Design and print cards with those recipes that are most significant for the group, the necessary ingredients, and the step for preparation. Component 3: Recreational excursions 1. Participation in food fairs, markets, events, museums. 2. Gastronomic meeting between different Neighborhoods (villa).
Expected Impacts and Results
1. Gather together women from different migration communities in a workshop 2. Strengthen bonds of respect between neighbors of different communities, to improve relationships in the neighborhood. 3. Fostering the exchange of cultural assets - knowledge of other cultures-cultural dialogue between residents or migrants in four slums of the city participating in the Activity. 4. Empower women participation in governmental initiatives, a step to start working on gender equality. 5. Increase of the participation of social organizations in public programs and encourage their interaction.
