Detail

Summary
The scope involves providing Cities Alliance and its implementing partners in Liberia with GIS data and maps for use in the different technical assessment and planning products committed to be delivered under the Country Programme by 2021.
Objectives
The Cities Alliance requires demographic and geo-spatial data and maps on greater Monrovia for use by its Programme partners (UN-Habitat, SDI and HFHI in particular) and for the City Development Strategy (CDS) being undertaken by the Cities Alliance Secretariat. The CDS is a process and planning tool to help local governments and their development partners build resilience and lay the basis for economic growth, more cohesive communities, and improved living environments. As in other urban planning products, a typical CDS will be built on a robust analysis of socio-economic and spatial data for the city and its environs to inform its recommendations for long term land use planning, zoning and development controls.
