Cities Alliance Catalytic Fund Notification, Urban Sector Board, 12 April 2011
12 April 2011
Dear Urban Sector Board Members,
As you are aware, the Cities Alliance has recently adopted a new Charter and business model. I had wanted to wait until these are being implemented, before seeking time to make a formal presentation to the Urban Sector Board. I will now work with Zoubida to see when this could happen.
As part of this process, the CA put out a call for proposals for our new Catalytic Fund in January 2011 with a closing date of 31 March 2011.
I am pleased to report that we received a total of 73 proposals, 44 of which have met the minium eligibility requirements and will be sent to the Expert Evaluation Panel (EEP) for review. The purpose of this email is to bring this proposals to your attention as soon as possible, and thereby facilitate obtaining CMU concurrence when the final successful projects have been identified.
Please find attached an Summary Table excel file a web link to all 44 concept notes. In compliance with the World Bank's Information Security policy, concept notes have been posted on the Cities Alliance Member Page (password protected). Kindly please create a personal login to access the concept notes as well as the new, updated, Cities Alliance Members Home Page - http://www.citiesalliance.org.
In parallel to this email, we have circulated the 44 proposals to our Consultative Group for review and comment.
The Secretariat has suggested that, due the volume of proposals, a second Donor Coordination email will be circulated in the first week of May with the 8-10 Concept Notes recommended by the EEP for further inspection by the yourselves as well as our Consultative Group members (two week review period).
Please be advised that for ease of access, all Proposal Updates are routinely posted on the members page of our website -- accessible through "Members Login" at http://www.citiesalliance.org. Kindly please create a personal login to access the new, updated, Cities Alliance Members Home Page.
We would welcome any early feedback or suggestions you or your country-based colleagues might wish to bring to our attention and would ask that comments be sent by 26 April 2011.
With my best wishes,
